WEDDING  HAIR TIPS

Chronological order of 'What to do When' with your hair.

6-8 Months:

Begin the selection for your headpiece. Research local bridal shops and Bride's Magazine for ideas.

Once you headpiece is selected, start researching hairstyles that will complement the headpiece. Tear out pictures from magazines to take to your hairstylist.

3 Months:

Meet with bridesmaids and discuss hairstyles. Ask them to start looking through magazines for ideas and collect pictures to show the hair stylist

Decide on any color change or highlights for your hair. If the change is significant, try it out well in advance. This will help alleviate any last minute drastic change - leaving you feeling uncomfortable.

Consult with stylist to make sure your type of hair will work for the style you've selected.

Once your hairstyle is determined, consult with stylist on which styling products will best support the style.

Start conditioning your hair for a healthy shiny look.  HairCare Suggestions: Hydrating Conditioner, Intensive Conditioner, Reconstructive Treatment.
2 Months:

Avoid trying new makeup, perfumes, or lotions in case you have an allergic reaction. (i.e. waterproof mascara, self-tanners, etc.) Encourage bridal party to do the same.

1 Month:

Schedule an in-salon hairstyling rehearsal for wedding party. Have everyone bring hair style pictures they've selected. Include mother of the bride and flower girls.

Discuss groom's hairstyle. Schedule appointment for groom and groomsmen to have hair cut at least one week prior to wedding.

Bride should have hair trimmed, cut and shaped.

Have your hair color or highlights done.

Day of Wedding:

Have hair styled several hours before wedding so you're not rushed.

Schedule makeup application after hairstyle, especially if your hair will be washed and styled.

Bring along your maid of honor or a friend for support and to keep you calm!

Honeymoon Hair Care Tips:

Bring along hair care products with SPF protection if you're in the sun.

Wear a hat to protect hair and face.

Bring hair conditioner to protect from sun, chlorine, or salt water.  HairCare Suggestions: Revitalizing Conditioner, Intensive Conditioner.

Protect the beautiful hair you've worked so hard to get for your wedding!
